Adama Spinning Factory, a subsidiary of ADAMA DEVELOPMENT P.L.C, is a yarn manufacturing factory both in open end and ring spun yarn. The factory is located in Oromia Regional state, Adama/Nazareth about 100 km in the south East of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, and is nearby the main road to Djibouti. The Factory was established in 2006 and has started operation in July 2008.

The Factory has created Job opportunities for around 250 employees and is producing yarn in three shifts. Adama Spinning Factory has an advisory board and team of executives including General Manager and six department Managers. The management members have the responsibility to organize, plan, supervise, and coordinate the company, its business and production according to the company’s rules and regulations. The decision making process is according to hierarchy level and the department managers can make decision based on the organization’s policy.

The company is planning to install an appropriate operating/network systems and international bench mark standards. It is also planned to implement a quality management system, automated management information system and the world wide responsible accredited production (WRAP) certification. Furthermore the company is working hard to receive certification of ISO 9001:2008 and organic Certifications.

Infrastructure and Technology

• We are Ethiopian based cotton yarn manufacturer with one of the largest spinning facilities in East Africa


• The Factory is well equipped with the state art technology; most of the machinery, various mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Equipment are sourced from renowned and most reliable Switzerland companies known as Rieter and Luwa. The winding machines are from Murata of Japan equipped with yarn cleaner USTER QUANTUM-2.


• Our laboratory is also fully equipped with highly reputed Italian Company known as MESDAN and ensures quality as per customer specification.


• Using Most of the existing installed facilities, an immediate expansion program is underway to produce COMBED YARN and it also enhances the current capacity by 40%.


• A cotton ginnery and edible oil factory is planned to be established in Adama Town. The factory is aimed to produce lint cotton, edible oil and cotton seeds for local market as well as for own consumption.


• We can twist fully processed cotton yarn as per customers specific need


• We can wind 2 Kg – 2.5 Kg cotton yarn on cones for final delivery


• Our Quality Standard is in USTER STATSTICS between 5% to 25%
