Almatex is committed to using the latest technologies in spinning. The quality of the production is at the level that could be reached by less than 5% of the world spinning mills according to USTER statistics. The best machinery is used in the production of our fine yarns. The spinning solutions are from Marzoli Italy. The automatic cone winders are from Muratec Japan, twisting machines from Volkmann, assembly winder from SSM Switzerland and the Air conditioning systems from LTG Air Engineering. We aim at the latest technologies that meet our customer requirement for high end quality cotton yarns.

OPERATING CAPACITY

The company started in 1999 with an operating capacity of 10,800 spindles producing 720 tons per annum of Fine Counts spinning. During 2003, the company embarked on an expansion plan that was finalized in the third quarter of 2004. The expansion has brought the company's total annual spinning production capacity to 1,500 tons of Fine Counts and 1,500 tons twisting capacity, through upgrading the existing equipment, the addition of 15 twisting machines and the addition of 12,960 spindles that bring the total operating capacity of the company to 24,480 spindles and the number of twisting machines to 21 with 5,840 spindles. This investment has entailed a capital expenditure of approximately 12 million US Dollars.

As a result of the increasing demand on its products, Almatex expanded its operating capacity to reach 53,280 spindles including compact yarn machinery. The new expansion will enable the company to satisfy the rapid increase in demand besides reaching a better and economical production size.

RAW MATERIALS
The company's main raw material is raw cotton. it relies 100% on Egyptian cotton sourced locally. Previously cotton sourcing was conducted through various reputable cotton trading companies. However, few years ago Almatex started securing its needs through another Alkan Group company. This change render the company more control over its raw material procurement in terms of quality, price, and grade of cotton required and saved the margin previously paid to middlemen.
