Brandix has been accredited as Sri Lanka's single largest apparel
exporter with an annual turnover of over US $ 500 million. Brandix employs over
35,000 Associates directly, while generating indirect employment to an
equivalent number. The Group is supported by over 34 manufacturing facilities
backed by strategically located international sourcing offices. The company
provides over 50% of value addition locally through its backward-linked
operations in textiles, thread, buttons, and hangers.
Brandix specializes in casual bottoms, underwear, lounge & sleepwear, bras,
textiles, knitted & woven fabrics, sewing & embroidery thread,
accessories & hangers, and also offers wet processing, finishing and fabric
printing. The pioneer of the concept of 'total solutions' in Sri Lanka's
apparel sector, the company is a preferred solutions provider to some of the
world's leading apparel brands, including Victoria's Secret, PINK, Gap, Banana
Republic, Marks & Spencer, Lands' End, Tommy Hilfiger, Hanes, Express,
H&M, Old Navy, Intimissimi and Tesco.
With a Vision 'To be THE inspired solution for branded clothing', the company's
command of its supply chain in both woven and knits is its key strength. This
has been facilitated via strategic acquisitions, joint-ventures and investments
linked to its core-business of apparel manufacturing and leveraging on vendor
partnerships.
Brandix is at the forefront of national and global efforts to adopt
eco-friendly manufacture. The Group was honoured with the country's apex award
for energy conservation at the first ever National Energy Efficiency Awards
in 2010. Its Eco Centre at Seeduwa is the first Green Apparel Factory in the
world to be rated Platinum under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System of the US Green
Building Council. It has also been commended as a global model for sustainable
production by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
and in Britain's House of Lords. The Brandix Group now has three LEED certified
facilities in Sri Lanka. Brandix has succeeded in reducing its Carbon Footprint
by 17 per cent in 2010 and plans an overall 30 per cent reduction by 2012, with
2008 as the base year.
The Brandix Group's principal CSR efforts are driven by the central corporate
theme of 'Care for Water: Care for Women' and constitute a long term commitment
to increasing the availability of water and the provision of safe drinking
water to those most in need. The Group's community outreach initiatives also
include providing wells and pipe-borne water to communities in and around its
manufacturing plants and the improvement of sanitation facilities in needy
areas.
