ACCA Certified Accounting Technician ~ Distance Learning

The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification is internationally recognised and highly regarded.  It is  structured and examined by ACCA and offers you the opportunity to further your career options.  Whether you wish to start a career in finance, gain recognition for the wealth of skills and experience you have already achieved or want accelerated progression to the ACCA Professional Scheme and a more senior position in accountancy, the CAT qualification will help you achieve your career objectives.

The CAT course is designed to equip you with all the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to fulfil an accounting role to technician level.  It also provides a firm foundation of knowledge and the opportunity to fast track towards becoming a professional ACCA accountant.

On completion of the CAT course, you can move directly to Part 2 of the ACCA Professional course.

Introductory Level
1.  Recording Financial
2.  Information for Management Control

Intermediate Level
3.  Maintaining Financial Records
4.  Accounting for Costs 

Advanced Level
5.  Managing People and Systems
6.  Drafting Financial Statements
7.  Planning, Control and Performance Management

Plus two options from:
8.  Implementing Audit Procedures
9.  Preparing Taxation Computations
10.Managing Finances      

Assessment Requirements

  • One External Examination for each Paper
  • 6 subjects are taken per year

The length of the course for all of the subjects, if no re-takes, will be at least 12 months.

Examinations
External Examinations are held at ACCA Examination Centres.
Examinations are in June and December.

Study Timetable
Personal Studies:    10 hours per week

Tutor Support
Support will be provided by our Academic Subject Tutors, and a Personal Tutor, throughout the course.

Please note:  Sets of 2 (two) papers @ £190 each set, must be purchased each time.
