About the Fair

1] What is IIGF? Provide us with brief History of IIGF?

The Apparel Export Promotion Council is the most important nodal agencies under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India for promotion of apparel exports. The Council organizes international garment fairs in India in alliance with four major Garment Exporters' Associations since 1988. The fair, displaying Autumn/Winter Collections is held during the month of January and for that of Spring/Summer Collections, in July, every year. 43rd IIGFs have been successfully held so far in the past 22 years.

IIGF, which is a specialised business fair and forty fourth in the series shall show case the characteristic trends and fashions in the apparel industry from entire India and extensively recognised as the leading exhibition for the Indian Garment Export Industry in India.

2] When was the last IIGF scheduled?

The 43rd IIGF was held from 15 – 17 July’2009 at Hall Nos. 8,9,10, 11, 12 & 12A, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.. 306 participants participated in the said fair. The fair was held for Spring/Summer season.

The exhibition had a large overseas presence – a total number of 606 buyers from 66 countries visited the fair alongwith 403 buying agents from India. The major buyers were from Spain, United States followed by UK, France, Japan, Turkey, Italy, Canada, Portugal, Singapore, Brazil, Australia etc.

About Pragati Maidan :
More than just an exhibition place, the building is a huge complex with contemporary design and is surrounded by greenery. Divided into smaller buildings and compounds, Pragati Maidan hosts plethora of national and international exhibitions of all kinds. This complex houses five permanent exhibitions which include Nehru Pavalion, Atomic Energy an Defense Pavilion.

Pragati Maidan was founded in 1982 on the eves of Asian games. The complex houses many pavilions like Nehru Pavilion, Defense Pavilion, Indira Pavilion, Son of India Pavilion. If you are in Delhi, then a visit to Pragati Maidan is a must. In November, Pragati Maidan becomes one of the best place to explore.
