China is a leading market for the Italian companies involved in the production of textile machinery. In 2007 the Italian sales in Chinese market totalled a value of Euro 360 million, and in the first semester of 2008 the exports reached Euro 173 million. The most requested Italian machinery were the spinning ones (34% of the total export toward China), followed by weaving machines (21%) and knitting machines (20%). In view of above facts the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) will hold two technical workshops on Italian textile machinery for the production of technical textiles and nonwovens in China on 24 February, 2009.
