Production
Textiles and clothing are one of the
most important sectors of the Turkish economy and foreign trade. These sectors
have an annual production value of US$ 30 billion and had a 21.5% share in
total export volume in 2007. There are more than 35,000 textile and clothing
companies in Turkey, 66 of which were among the 500 largest companies in Turkey in 2006. In addition, 30 textile and clothing companies are quoted in Istanbul Stock
Exchange.
