In today's world of
sophistication, a plethora of highly fashionable apparels are available in the
market. Consumers have an array of choices when it comes to the type of fabrics
they choose to wear. Adding up with man made fibres, a variety of synthetic fabrics
are also seen in the store shelves. New ways of processing fabrics has brought
a revolution in the clothing industry. Made from very rare and expensive
materials, these fabrics are exceptionally priceless and add a touch of
elegance to the wearer. Available in limited measures, these fabrics are worth
a ransom due to its richness, and rarity.
Fabrics from Vicuña wool are
manufactured exclusively at par with the highest standards regardless of its
cost. The fabrics are made from feather light wool and cashmeres which are very
delicate and extremely lightweight. Rare Vicuña wool with acute fineness is
used to deliver substantial feel and comfort. Vicuñas are rare wild animals
living in the slopes of the Andes Mountains, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. They produce very small amount of extremely fine wool, approximately one pound
in a year. Due to its scarcity, it is very expensive, and its wool can be shorn
only once in three years. Its fur is very soft and warm. During the period of
the Inca's, Vicuñas were raised only for their wool, and it was considered
illegal for a person not from the royal family to wear a garment made from
Vicuña's wool.
Attires tailored out of this
fabric are softer than cashmere. Only the best wool, satisfying high quality
standards is used. These fine woollen fabrics, surpasses other fabrics in its
unique softness, while retaining all the practical properties of a genuine
virgin wool. They have a pleasant feel, and drapes well with an exquisite
appearance. They cost around UK 4,000 to 25,000 for a metre. These fabrics have
a realm of reputed customers in the list; Bill Clinton, David Beckham, and Tom
Cruise being a few to name. Overcoats and jackets were manufactured initially,
and recently suitings are also manufactured with 100% Vicuña wool. Though these
fabrics are thin, they are made up of insulating hairs that are softer and
warmer than any other material. As many countries are taking initiatives to
restrict the decimation of Vicuñas, this wool has become increasingly rare.
Fabrics
woven with Gold Threads:
During ancient ages, people of
the royal heritage wore clothes woven from gold threads during sumptuous
weddings and other ceremonies. Imagine Rumpelstiltskin, spinning straws into
strands of gold in fairy tales. Current days clothing industry gives an option
for the 'cream of the crop' people to live the life of a king. These fabrics
are woven wholly or partly of gold threads. Gold or silver threads are drawn
through holes, in a specially devised metal plate, and are used in a round or
flattened way. Modern metallic clothing known as 'lame' is made by wounding
thin metal threads or lame around a core yarn. In most cases, a core yarn,
which is normally of silk, is wrapped with a band of high content gold file.
Fine linen and wool are also used as core yarn. Gold, being a supple metal
would get twisted around the core yarn without breaking. These fabrics are
woven with a gold wrapped or spun weft, and are different from gold embroidery
techniques wherein a gold thread is passed through the cloth.
Cloth
woven with Diamond fragments:
Though men are not fascinated by
jewellery as much as women do, this diamond suit is for them. Diamond chips are
processed into the woolen cloth after the fabric is cleaned and combed. Thus
shining threads are woven into these unique fabrics. This is a billionaire's
suit and has customers like Robert De Niro, and Jack Nicholson.
