Each product has its own varieties or types depending
upon the nature of raw material, design, style, specifications etc. This leads to the complication of
understanding description goods under trade and also the subsequent process of
manufacturing and documentation. In order to overcome this problem, a
common nomenclature and coding for various products and their categories has
been developed which is called as Harmonized Commodity Description and
Coding System.
International trade involves business transactions of
various types of products and services across the countries. Every country has
its own nomenclature for various products and this differs from country to
country. And also each product has its own varieties or types depending upon
the nature of raw material, design, style, specifications etc. This leads to
the complication of understanding description goods under trade and also the
subsequent process of manufacturing and documentation. In order to overcome
this problem, a common nomenclature and coding for various products and their
categories has been developed which is called as Harmonized Commodity
Description and Coding System. This common names and code numbers are followed
by various countries involved in international trade.
