Introduction:

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India would have around 57 million diabetic patients by the year 2025. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. Diabetics has received a great deal of attention in the novel drug delivery technologies because optimal and control drug delivery is required in Diabetic disease.

In field of medical textile, there is no specific device or technologies which can act according to blood glucose level. In this technology, we are trying to develop the glucose sensitive interactive wears for borderline Type-II Diabetic patients.

In this project, we are trying to incorporate an optimal and control drug delivery into the wear. In this technology, a potent herbal drug will be delivered to the system by the optimal and control way. This technology is based on the reaction of glucose in the blood with glucose oxidase. This reaction can be immobilized on polymers. The glucose/glucose-oxidase reaction causes a lowering of the pH in polymer Drug deliverys specific area. It can cause an increase in the swelling of the polymer drug delivery system, leading to an increased release of Anti-Diabetic herbal drug into the blood.

The polymers which are pH sensitive and degradable in an acidic environment can be used in this technology.

Methodology:

Step-1: Select the suitable acidic or basic polymer.
