Cecilia Heffer

Cecilia Heffer acquired her Masters degree in Textiles at London's Central Saint Martins and has worked in leading studios of London such as Timney Fowler, and Les Papillons in New York. Currently she is working as a Textiles Co-ordinator for the Fashion and Textile Design Degree at the University of Technology, Sydney, where she combines teaching with research development and a design practice.

Heffer has received a number of awards and her work has been published in national and international forecasting and design journals. She exhibits regularly and her work is in private and public collections including the Powerhouse Museum Sydney and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

Creation of pattern through a contemporary interpretation of lace, intersection between emerging technologies and traditional textile practice, and exploring structural properties of cloth and recreating new geometries and systems in the surface of a fabric are her areas of interest.
