Shri Jagdip Narayan Singh, an IAS Officer (1983), is currently appointed as the Textile Commissioner, Government of India. He started his Civil Services career as an Assistant Collector in Veraval, Gujarat in 1984. Since then he has held various positions in different offices and departments of Government of Gujarat. Among the important positions held were Joint Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, Director (Marketing) of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals, M.D. of Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd. and Secretary of Information Technology in Gujarat. He has a bright academic career - a ranker in SSC, a topper in J. N. University and a topper with Distinction in Management Studies from Asian Institute of Management, Philippines.
