Turkey's Canlar Mechatronics is a leading designer and manufacturer of textile dyeing and finishing machines, with core products that include fabric dyeing, coil dyeing, fibre dyeing, levent dyeing, stenters, equalizing and free drying, fuller cutting, and balloon squeezing machines. Sales and marketing head Zafer Demirel shares details about the company's latest dyeing technologies.

Please tell us about your company.

We are one the biggest companies into manufacturing of dyeing and finishing machines. Canlar was set up in 1996. We have been growing with each passing year and are now leaders in dyeing and finishing technologies.

What new technologies did you showcase at ITMA 2019?

Since ITMA is the biggest textile machinery exhibition in the world, we show our latest technologies. Beginning with ITMA 2015, we showed smart versions of our machinery. At ITMA 2019, we showed our smart vision dyeing machines, which are an upgraded version of the 2015 model. The fabric dyeing machinery has the lowest water consumption. The technology reduces electricity as well as steam costs. We changed the pumps and heat exchangers in the model we showed here. It is now more environmental-friendly. It is also sturdy. So, the machine running cost for the buyer has been reduced.

How many countries do you export to?

We export to 26 countries in the Middle East, Far East Asia, Europe and South America. We are very strong in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Since when have you been visiting ITMA?

This is my second ITMA after the one in Milan.

What is your opinion of ITMA, when you compare it with other textile machinery exhibitions?

ITMA is the Olympics of textiles and most companies show their innovations here. The buyers who come to ITMA are well-informed and are decisionmakers. The buyers who plan to purchase new machinery a few months before ITMA, wait for this event, so that they can see and purchase the latest technologies. We closed three orders on our first day at the event. (HO)
