Four-fifths of geotextiles produced in China use our technology
Chinese company Jiangsu Yingyang Nonwoven Machinery, established in 1993, is a leading nonwoven equipment manufacturer integrating nonwoven equipment and products with its research and development, technical process and supportive service. Chairman Fan Liyuan discusses the firm's latest nonwoven technologies showcased at ITMA Asia in Shanghai.

Which technologies did you take to ITMA Asia'18?

We have introduced mainly three technologies at ITMA Asia. The first one is for manufacturing diapers. The Chinese government has introduced a new policy for having a second child, so we foresee an increasing demand for diapers. The population of old people is also increasing. Here too, we see the market for adult diapers grow.

The second technology is to produce synthetic leather, close to leather in look and feel and mainly used in automobiles. As incomes increase and lifestyles get better, demand for automobiles will also grow.

The third is to produce acoustic sound insulation fabrics, for which too, the demand is expanding. These fabrics are used in movie theatres, meeting rooms and decoration. It is very difficult to produce these fabrics, but we have developed a very good technology to produce these sound insulation fabrics. We also offer technology to produce geotextiles and 80 per cent of geotextiles produced in China use our technology. We also offer solutions for automotive interiors.

Are your technologies Industry 4.0 compliant?

We have successfully introduced this function in all our machines and it is offered as an option if the buyer wants. The CEO can oversee the operation of the machines sitting in his office on his laptop or computer. We can also solve issues and challenges related to the machine from our factory if needed.

To how many countries do you export to?

We export 55 per cent of our production and until now have exported our machines to 72 countries, including the United States, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Mexico and Turkey.

Is your company participating at ITMA Barcelona?

We are participating in ITMA Barcelona and will introduce new technologies, by upgrading our existing machines by adding sensors and new electronic components. (HO)
