NAU is a retail-directed, technical outdoor sports apparel and lifestyle clothing company featuring an unparalleled team, a groundbreaking branding strategy and a highly disruptive business model. With a bullet proof track record of brand development (Nike, Patagonia, The Body Shop, Cole Haan, Marmot), naus management team will target the $5B outdoor apparel portion of the emerging $440B values-based retail market by providing quality products with a socially responsible theme. Company branded retail locations (one of the first will be in the Pearl District) will feature internet-based webfronts where customers can choose to shop in a traditional manner or order products for home delivery in exchange for discounted prices. Currently company is looking Apparel Product Integrity Manager.
The Candidate Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive product quality standards and procedures, integrate them into naus product process and enforce them with our factories.
- Establish a scalable plan to ensure adequate product quality inspection of our production, whether through agents, third parties, or nau staff.
- Work with naus designated social auditor to implement the factory social compliance standards and procedures with our factories and ensure that the Code of Conduct is being upheld.
- Track factory performance against the standards.
- Work with naus designated environmental auditor to implement factory environmental compliance standards and procedures with our factories.
- Track factory performance against the standards.
- Partner with Production in the development of seasonal sourcing plans and in the resolution of relationship-effecting issues with our factories.
- Partner with Fabric Development to ensure that material standards as approved in development are carried out in production.
- Partner with Garment Development to ensure that garment specifications are clearly understood and achievable in production by the factories.
- Partner with Logistics, Retail, and nau customers to obtain product quality feedback and address those issues at the source.
The Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelors degree preferred from reputed university.
- Additional 2 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years experience in apparel quality or closely related field.
- Must have at least 3 years experience at a management level.
- International experience preferred.
- Experience with the principles and operation of social and environmental compliance auditing is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of the apparel development and production processes.
- Must have proven performance history with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers.
- Experience in a broad range of sportswear and technical knit and woven garments preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to obtain information from various systems.
- Must be proficient with MS Office.
- Exposure to the fundamentals of sustainability as it relates to fabric and production is preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form with a diverse audience.
- Detail oriented with strong follow through.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
