Responsible for the management of sourcing and development from conceptualization to quality approval and fabric standardization for bulk production.
Ensure close liaison with merchandising and tech development to source all fabrics and trims to the correct price and quality standards.
Initiate and develop new fabric concepts quarterly for core signature, downloading this information to overseas partners via inspirational development packages to ensure correct regional development according to brand aesthetic and cost strategy.
Communicate status of developments to merchandising partners in weekly review meetings.
Partner with the costing team and design to establish correct fabric target prices at the initiation for each development and reaffirm costing strategies for each product introduction.
Make trips to local and overseas trend shows providing feedback presentations to design and merchandising.

Degree from textile technology / design course or equivalent with approximately 5 years textile experience.
At least 7 years applied experience within textile industry.
Experience working directly with Asian fabric mills required.
Proven success managing and developing a team.
Previous experience on global fabric development.
Advanced understanding of technical aspects of fabric (yarn size, construction, finishes, TC background, etc).
Ability to understand mill capabilities thoroughly to direct development into most appropriate locations.
Proven follow - up and follow through skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
High level of attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently.
Computer proficiency; Windows, Word, Excel, E-mail.
Fluent English (verbal and in written), other languages are welcome.
