Founded in 1995, as a family run business, the company has been exclusively and continuously working in the field of Natural Dyes. Our sister concern named “Sam-N-Ram” and “Interline exports”, with the same directors, has been taken over by the parent company i.e. Sam Vegetable Colours (P) Ltd. in 2004.

At present, besides selling natural dyes and project consultancy, company also does natural dyeing of various count yarns in commercial dyeing machines in bulk quantity on commission basis and is equipped to supply/export natural dyed fabric & yarn in cone form from its office in Ludhiana. We have also tied up for supply of Natural dyed textile products.

Although, at present, company is manufacturing Natural dyes on small scale and is determined to increase its production with demand but still being a new and developing industry requires support & suggestions from all concerned.

About the Products

Theory

Vegetable dyes means the pigment contained inside the vegetation (such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds etc) and the pigment found inside insect secretion. Vegetable Dyeing means when these raw materials are used for dyeing fiber, textile etc.

In olden times, the dyeing work was a individual dyer’s skill, there was no consideration of shades matching, lot to lot variation, quantum of production, dyeing time & cost etc, while these are the basic need of present time. It was a very different concept of dyeing as compared to today’s need & working. In the last 150 years since the introduction of chemical dyes, the dyes & dyeing industry has been fantastically developed globally. Most modern dyeing technology & dyeing machines are present everywhere. In this present scenario use of these dyes in raw form was not possible but dyers, industrialist, exporters & consumers became too crazy & passionate about Vegetable dyes, without understanding the fact, especially when the hazardous effect of chemical dyes came to the mind of the people and ban on the use of Azo dyes by the European community.

Considering the problems faced by the different artisans & industrialist, we thought to develop the dyes and dyeing method, in such a form so that it can be used by any pot dyer as well in dyeing machines.

One more thing we noticed during our this most expensive & time taking work that if two or three dyes (powdered form of dried vegetations) are taken in different but in a particular percentage, the depth & fastness is too high than what a single dye was giving, luckily we could develop many combinations of dyes.

Again an idea developed why we should not Ferment these combinations of different dyes as our dyers use to do in older days. We did it and fortunately we could develop the direct Blue, direct Green & direct Black. Again a problem came before us what name should be given to such combinations of two-three dyes.

Therefore, we were compelled to give them brand/commercial names. For example-- we observed that combination of Pomegranate rind (Punica Granatum), Turmeric (Curcuma Longa), Tesu (Butea Frondosa) is giving better & deeper yellow shade instead of using any single dye so we have named it Mango Yellow.  

Going through ups & down in last 12 years and considering the problems attached with the Natural dyes company has been able to develop fermented

These Fermented dyes can be mixed with any other dye to get unlimited & direct shades of different hue & depth and can be used commercially & globally in a big way and in different dyeing machines.
