APTMA calls for enhancing trade ties with Xinjiang

The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has given a call for enhancing trade ties with the Chinese autonomous province of Xinjiang.
 
Welcoming a visiting Chinese delegation last week, APTMA Punjab chairman SM Tanveer stressed on the need for identifying trade an investment potential between Punjab and the Chinese province of Xinjiang.
 
Mr. Tanveer said both Pakistan and Chinese Governments are serious about improving trade ties through the planned Pakistan-China Economic Corridor.
 
He assured the delegation from the Division of Foreign Economic and Technical Cooperation, Department of Commerce of Xinjiang, that APTMA would extend full cooperation to improve trade ties between the two countries.
 
He added that Punjab province has a strong textile industry base and APTMA is willing to explore new avenues with the Chinese counterparts, along with the development of economic corridor.
 
The head of the Chinese delegation apprised Mr. Tanveer of their objective of exploring the possibility of cooperation with Pakistan in textile and energy sectors. 
 
He said that he foresees immense possibility of cooperation with Pakistan and they have got first-hand information about the potential areas.
