CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund promotes next generation designers

On October 25, 2012, The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Vogue Fashion Fund hosted a group fashion show, highlighting looks from each of the ten designers chosen as the 2012 Finalists. With the support of Audi, J Brand, American Express and backstage hair and makeup by Beauty.com, the presentation held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles introduced the next generation of American design talent to LA’s top stylists, editors and tastemakers.

Fashionable celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Victoria Beckham, Isla Fisher, January Jones, Tobey Maguire, James Marsden, Mandy Moore, Elisabeth Moss, Katy Perry, Emma Roberts, Gavin Rossdale, Gwen Stefani, Marisa Tomei, Jaime King, Amber Valletta and Rachel Zoe showed their support for the designers.

The Los Angeles fashion show will also be featured in an episode of the Vogue.com hosted web series, The Fashion Fund. In its second season, The Fashion Fund allows fashion enthusiasts to follow the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund process from beginning to end.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Vogue magazine have created an endowment to support the next generation of American fashion designers. With monies raised, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund has been established, the stated purpose of which is to generate sufficient income each year to fund significant financial awards to one or more designers and provide business mentoring. Award recipients are selected by a Committee of industry experts, based on the exceptional talent they have already demonstrated in fashion design and their capacity for future distinction in the fashion industry.
