ECHA unveils new version of REACH-IT & IUCLID

When one logs into REACH-IT, one will be asked to accept the new terms and conditions and to validate your email address. Only after doing this, can one access one’s company account.

The new terms and conditions state that if a message received through REACH-IT has been opened by one user in the company, it has been legally received. All messages are considered to be received seven days after they are sent and can set deadlines in motion.

This applies even if the messages have not been opened. Certain messages, however, can set deadlines in motion as soon as the message is sent. This is the case, for example, for decisions on incomplete registrations and PPORD dossiers. The full list of exceptions is available in the new terms and conditions.

The Agency encourages users to regularly log into REACH-IT and to check their message boxes. Companies should also review their REACH-IT user management and delete obsolete accounts to make sure that relevant messages are received and quickly acted upon.

ECHA also recommends that companies identify an "ECHA Regulatory Contact" person in REACH IT who will receive email alerts and initiate the follow-up actions required by any important message sent by ECHA.

REACH-IT 2.7 can now also be used for submitting applications for authorisation. This means that for individual applications one does no longer have to use separate web forms. For joint applications however, web forms still have to be used before the final submission through REACH-IT. The updated Data Submission Manual 22 explains the steps to take in detail.

Together with REACH-IT, a new version of IUCLID is published. The update (version 5.6) adapts IUCLID to the fourth revision of the CLP Regulation and allows registrants and notifiers to comply with this regulatory update. More information about the release of IUCLID 5.6 is available on the IUCLID website. ECHA will still continue to accept IUCLID dossiers made with the previous IUCLID versions 5.4 and 5.5.
