German investors keen to invest in Pakistan: top official

A German traders delegation will soon visit Pakistan to explore business opportunities as investors there are keen to invest in the south Asian nation, according to Martin Herzer, commercial counsellor in the Embassy of Germany in Pakistan. He was addressing exporters at Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) North Zone office in Faisalabad.
Foreseeing a vast scope to enhance bilateral trade ties, Herzer said the German Government would encourage joint ventures with large Pakistani enterprises, according to Pakistani media reports.
Pakistani textile exports to Germany witnessed an upward trend of 16 per cent after the former received the generalised system of preferences (GSP) plus status, he added. (DS)
