Vikram Kirloskar is new CII president, TV Narendran VP

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recently announced Vikram Kirloskar, chairman and managing director (MD) of Kirloskar Systems Ltd, as its president for 2019-20. He takes over from Bharti Enterprises vice chairman Rakesh Bharti Mittal. Kotak Mahindra Bank MD Uday Kotak is the president designate and Tata Steel Ltd MD TV Narendran is the vice president.

Kirloskar has been associated with CII for three decades and has been chairman of the Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA) board since its inception in 2012-13. He has chaired several national committees and councils of CII in manufacturing, research and development, design, innovation, technology and corporate social responsibility, according to a CII press release.

Kotak is a member of the International Advisory Panel of Monetary Authority of Singapore. He was appointed as non-executive chairman of the new IL&Fs board to steer the company out of the current crisis. He was also chairman of the Securities Exchange Board of India panel on corporate governance.

Narendran has been associated with CII for many years at the state, regional and national levels. He was the chairman of CII Eastern Region during 2016-17 and had led CII national committees on leadership and human resources besides being chairman of CII’s Jharkand unit. (DS)
