Swedish furniture major IKEA is likely to inaugurate its first Indian store in Hyderabad on July 10, according to Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, information technology and industries of the Telangana state government. The company CEO is expected to inaugurate the ₹800-crore outlet that will create many direct and indirect jobs, he said.The 400,000-square-foot store will recruit 300 people, including 120 for the 1,000-seater restaurant coming up adjacent to it, according to a news agency report. It will showcase 7,500 products.
The company’s second store will open in Mumbai in 2019, followed by Bengaluru and Delhi National Capital Region. The company has opened a distribution point in Pune.
