Fashion was one of the top-selling categories of Amazon India in this festive season apart from electronics and household consumables. It was observed that over 65 per cent and more than 75 per cent of new customers of Amazon.in were from tier II cities and below geographies.
Amazon India country head Amit Agarwal told a leading daily that they are confident of carrying the momentum from its Diwali sale well into November and December. “We are excited that in just over three years, customers in India trust us to find, discover and buy anything online and are proud to lead the path for the future of what ecommerce should be in a diverse country like India,” Agarwal added.
During the festive season, Amazon.in was the most visited online shopping destination on desktop and m-site. Amazon said that they they were also the most downloaded app during festive season, which reflects in the ranking on both Google Playstore and iOS as the Number 1 Shopping App. More than 40 per cent customer shopped with Amazon.in multiple times during the festive season, across multiple categories.
