Mumbai to host India's largest ever garment fair

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is organizing “India’s largest Ever Apparel Trade Show – The 59th National Garment Fair” from 23rd June to 25th June 2014 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NSE Complex, Goregaon (East), Mumbai.
 
CMAI’s 59th National Garment Fair will be inaugurated by Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Govt. of India on 23rd June 2014 at 10.30 AM. Smt Zohra Chatterji, IAS, Secretary (Textiles) has kindly consented to the Guest of Honour at the Inauguration.
 
Mr. Rahul Mehta, President of The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (who is also the Vice Chairman of International Apparel Federation), stated that this B2B Fair will be spread over approx. 4.50 Lakh square feet, covering all the Halls at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. There will be 697 Stalls Displaying over 737 Brands. This will be the India’s Largest Ever Garment Fair held so far. Approx. 40,000 Retailers from all over India are expected to visit this B2B Fair. Over One lakh Invitation Cards displaying the Participating Brands in Men’s wear, Women’s wear & Kid’s wear have been sent by the Exhibitors to their Retailers, Wholesalers,  Agents & Distributors Inviting them to visit their Stall at the Fair.
 
CMAI will be organizing  "Fashion Fiesta" - Fashion Shows on  23rd June & 24th June at the 59th National Garment Fair. The USP of the last 3 Fairs, viz. the Business Networking Sessions will continue this year as well. 
 
Cmai’s Apparel Training Centres
CMAI’s has been appointed as one of the Lead Implementing Agencies under Component II of the Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS) of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India to Impart Training to 35,000 Trainees in the 12th Five Year Plan. CMAI plans to set up 50 Apparel Training Centers across India with the First Centre will be set up  at Baramati Hi Tech Textile Park, Baramati. 
 
Standardisation of Indian Sizes
CMAI, in association with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and Supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, is working on a new Initiative “ Size India “ to carry out a Scientific, Systematic Anthropometric Study of the Indian Population for the purpose of Developing a Sizing System for the Indian Domestic Apparel Industry . Under the “Size India” Project, CMAI plans to Measure more than 50,000 Indians to establish a Standard Indian Sizing for Apparel.
