Swedish apparel retailer Kappahl has increased the proportion of its sustainability labelled fashion range to 38 per cent from 24 per cent a year ago, up 60 per cent.

“Our ambitious sustainability work has produced results. The goal is for our share of sustainable fashion to continue increasing every year,” CEO Danny Feltmann said.

“More sustainable garments in the customers' closet, is a priority for Kappahl and is the only possible way forward to create a sustainable business as sustainability and profitability are two sides of the same coin,” the CEO added.

By 2020, all cotton garments in Kappahl's range will be sustainably produced, while currently, all cotton clothing in its men's shirts and children's collection Kaxs and the whole baby collection, Newbie is sustainably manufactured.

Kappahl's sustainability work is collectively done under the concept of 'Future Friendly Fashion', where, effort is put to reduce usage of everything from materials, water to chemicals to name a few. (AR)
