ATDC's Kaushal Vikas Bhawan in Patna inaugurated

Apparel Training and Design Centre's (ATDC's) Kaushal Vikas Bhawan in Patna has now become part of the Centre's mission to impart skills to the new and existing workforce in the domestic and export apparel industry and textiles sector, it said in a press release.
Jai Kumar Singh, Bihar's Industries, Science and Technology Minister inaugurated the ATDC's Kaushal Vikas Bhawan recently at Patliputra Industrial Area, Patna.
“Bihar is major provider of manpower to the industries in country as well as overseas. Skilling of this manpower will enhance the value addition of those manpower and higher earnings capability. I am highly impressed with ATDC Patna having advanced and latest machineries with state of the art infrastructure. The training methodology is appreciable and I also appreciate the female trainees for their willingness and commitment for the training which is important for the advancement of Bihar,” Singh said at the inauguration.
Kaushal Vikas Bhawan is designed to impart employment oriented training to the youth especially women. The Bhawan will provide trained shop-floor workforce for the domestic and export apparel Industry. It will offer short term programmes under ISDS, MOT, GOI (ATDC-SMART) up to 2 months and long term programmes in conjunctions with skill development initiative scheme DGE&T / NCVT through the ATDC Vocational Institute, the release said.
It aims to train 3000 candidates in a year. The centre is well equipped with Sewing Machines Labs, CAD Lab for Computerized Pattern Making, Computer Embroidery Machine, Resource Centre with latest books and periodicals and class rooms. The state-of-the-art facilities at ATDC Patna will give further impetus to its training activities in the whole Bihar.
ATDC Patna was set up in year 2009 with a hub of 10 ATDC-SMART Centres spread across Bihar. They have so far trained over 14,000 candidates at Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Chhapra, Hajipur, Madhubani, Motihari, Sasaram, Jhanjharpur, Saharsa and Rajgir.
In a message, ATDC Chairman Virender Uppal said Kaushal Vikas Bhawan is a landmark and will accelerate ATDCs skill development activities in Bihar. (SH)
