The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has requested the government of Maldives to consider importing resortwear and leisurewear from Bangladesh. The prospect of exporting leisure apparel was discussed during a meeting between high commissioner of Maldives Shiruzimath Sameer and BGMEA president Faruque Hassan on Monday.Maldives is a popular destination for global tourists where the demand for resortwear and leisurewear is very high.
The representatives also had a discussion on the possible areas of cooperation between Maldives and Bangladesh for enhancing bilateral trade, BGMEA said in a press note.
