Berghaus debuts Gore-Tex Colourkind Island Peak jacket

Berghaus has introduced the Island Peak collection, extending its Colourkind dyeing technology to waterproofs in an exclusive partnership with Gore-Tex.

“Berghaus Colourkind is a new fabric dyeing technology that is kinder to the environment, with a particular focus on fresh water savings,” a press release from Berghaus stated.

“Compared with regular processes, Berghaus Colourkind fabric dyeing uses fewer stages, resulting in savings of 89 per cent in water usage, 63 per cent fewer chemical and a 60 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions,” it added.

“By adding colour to the nylon chips before they are extruded into fibres, Berghaus saved over 1 million gallons of water in 2015, and also delivered better quality fabrics with improved colourfastness,” the company observed.

The Island Peak collection men's Island Peak 3-in-1 Hydroloft jacket; the men's and women's Island Peak jackets; the men's and women's Island Peak 3-in-1 jackets; and the men's and women's Island Peak pants.

The Island Peak jacket is made from a waterproof eco fabric and constructed to Gore-Tex storm level, ideal for keeping one protected and comfortable during year-round use in all weather conditions.

Features include a map-compatible pocket, zipped body vents and a roll-away hood with stiffened peak and volume adjuster for versatile fit.

The Island Peak 3-in-1 Jacket is versatile and waterproof with a removable insulated inner, designed for year-round use on the hill in all weather conditions.

“An inner made from soft and cozy 200 weight recycled fleece provides warmth and comfort, while both pieces can be worn alone or together to create a great layering system,” the company observed.

Features include a map-compatible pocket, zipped body vents and a roll-away hood with stiffened peak and volume adjuster, you'll stay comfortable and dry whatever the weather.

While, the Island Peak 3-in-1 Hydroloft Jacket is also versatile and waterproof with removable insulated inner, designed for year-round use on the hill in all weather conditions.

“The waterproof outer shell features Gore-Tex Colourkind, while the body-mapped inner insulated jacket uses Berghaus' Hydroloft Elite, giving excellent warmth with breathability for comfort,” Berghaus stated.

The Island Peak Pants are made from waterproof Gore-Tex Colourkind eco fabric, which feature two-way 3/4-length side zips, which ensures one can get them on quickly and easily. (AR)
