Burberry has made it to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the second consecutive year, this time as the industry leader for sustainability. The company has been recognised as the leader in the textiles, apparel and luxury goods sector due to its commitment towards continuously exploring more productive and sustainable ways of working.

Burberry received the best scores in economic, environmental and social areas like customer relationship management, tax strategy, environmental reporting and stakeholder engagement. It believes that the index is a benchmark for its asset managers who integrate sustainability considerations while making decisions.

Besides DJSI, the company has been listed in the RobecoSAM's 2016 Sustainability Yearbook, FTSE4Good Index and the MSCI Global Sustainability Index Series. It is a participant of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) and the UN Global Compact. (KD)
