The 103,000 square-foot facility, first built in 1982, has been repurposed with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology to produce classic Canada Goose parkas as well as new lightweight down styles for Fall/Winter 2016 Collection, which will be sold in over 50 countries. The new factory is the company's latest investment in rebuilding the apparel manufacturing infrastructure in Canada. According to Industry Canada, between 2010 and 2014 the Canadian apparel manufacturing industry lost 12,000 jobs, decreasing at an annual rate of 11 per cent.Canada Goose, leading maker of Arctic luxury apparel, officially opened its second manufacturing facility in Winnipeg this week.
