Kate Spade & Company Q4 net sales climb 9.8%

For the three months ended December 31, 2016, net sales at apparel retailer Kate Spade & Company climbed $42 million or 9.8 per cent year over year to $471 million. However, excluding sales for winding down operations in the fourth quarter of 2015, net sales for the fourth quarter of 2016 increased $43 million, or 10.1 per cent over a year ago quarter.
In the reporting quarter, gross profit as a percentage of net sales amounted to 59.2 per cent as against 60.2 per cent in the comparable quarter of 2015.
Income from continuing operations in the period under review stood higher at $87 million, or $0.67 per diluted share vis-à-vis $62 million, or $0.48 per diluted share, in the earlier year’s same quarter. (AR)
