Kohl's opening online distribution centre in Indianapolis

Apparel retailer Kohl's is opening a 937,000 square foot ecommerce distribution centre in Indianapolis, USA, for which the retailer has purchased a building. Expected to open in summer 2017, the facility will enhance the company's ability to fulfill online purchases and serve customers nationwide, while also supporting omnichannel fulfillment.
Kohl's operates 1,100 stores and offers the capability to ship merchandise from its entire network of stores and also the option for customers to buy online and pick up their purchase at their local Kohl's store.
Upon opening the new distribution facility, Kohl's will operate a total of 14 distribution centres across the US and will be the fifth distribution centre dedicated to serving online customers.
Kohl's expects to hire approximately 300 full and 600 part time associates over a three-year period, for which it plans to begin hiring by spring 2017. (AR)
