Marzio Coizzi as Fila's Commercial Director of EMEA
Jul '11
Fila Korea announced that Marzio Coizzi has been named Commercial Director of the EMEA Region. Since reacquiring the master license for the Fila brand in Europe in mid January and entering into multiple long-term licensing agreements for the region last month, Mr. Coizzi's appointment is a strategic move on behalf of the brand to have a liaison for the new licensing partners in order to streamline the flow and logistics of the business in the important EMEA region.

In his new role, Mr. Coizzi will oversee the commercial and marketing activities of the master licensees. He will also assume responsibility for managing the brand's category licensees in the European Union. Mr. Coizzi will coordinate global product initiatives for the master licensees while also developing new business opportunities, category licenses and regional opportunities in EMEA. He will report to Chairman Gene Yoon.

Mr. Coizzi is a highly regarded industry veteran with over 23 years of licensing experience at the Fila brand. From 1999 – 2004, Coizzi held the position of Vice President Footwear and Apparel Licensing. Prior to re-joining Fila, Coizzi was the Managing Director for Miss Sixty Footwear Asia where he created retail and wholesale business opportunities.

“Marzio brings a wealth of industry experience to the Fila team,” said Gene Yoon, Chairman of Fila Korea. “Under his leadership, we hope to make significant developments in the EMEA region. His extensive licensing and management experience will be a benefit as we work to re-establish Fila as a premier sport lifestyle brand in the influential EMEA region.”

2011 marks the centennial of the Fila brand which was established in Biella, Italy in 1911 by the Fila brothers. Fila is now a leading manufacturer of sport and leisure footwear and apparel distributed worldwide. The internationally respected company, having gained world class recognition in tennis apparel, has developed brand recognition by marketing high design and style content products that are endorsed by professional athletes from around the world.
