Makalot Industrial Co., Taiwan's leading apparel manufacturer and exporter primarily to American and European markets, has posted earnings of NT$ 1.278 billion or US$ 42.6 million in July.
Including the July 2011 figures, the company's revenues for the initial seven months of the current year amounted to NT$ 8.095 billion or US$ 269.83 million, which is an increase of 7.6 percent compared to the figures of 2010.
In the first half of the current year, Makalot's earnings grew to US$ 227.23 million, registering a year-on-year rise of 9.1 percent. During the same period, the firm's pre-tax earnings per share (EPS) was US$ 0.123, a little less than US$ 0.13 achieved during the same period in 2010.
For the next two months, Makalot already has orders booked for 2.1 million dozens of garments, which is a decline of 12.5 percent compared to 2.4 million dozens of garments booked during the same period last year. However, the drop in volume is expected to be made good by a sharp yearly rise of 26 percent.
