Consumers must feel safe when wearing IC products, Mr Mikkelsen

IC Companys has decided to implement a number of extensive measures in order to ensure that the consumers feel safe when wearing our products.
"IC Companys has zero tolerance when it comes to products that are not environmentally safe. We will therefore eliminate or reduce the risk of consumers wearing products which may contain too many chemicals or dye substances. We have always been focused on the consumers' right to feel safe — we will increase this focus in the future," stated Chief Executive Officer Niels Mikkelsen.
Since the occurrence of chemical residues in some of our products, IC Companys has analysed all its relevant processes to make sure that this does not happen again.
"It is a global problem — since China, India and other countries produce to the whole world. Nevertheless, we, as a Danish company, should be the frontrunner in order to ensure that no errors or violations occur which neither we nor the consumers can accept," said Niels Mikkelsen.
Therefore IC Companys implements a number of stringent procedures;
1. We will increase the number of tests so that we test our products having a risk of increased permitted values of chemical residues. Furthermore, we will perform spot checks on the remaining products.
2. We will transfer tests to the production countries meaning that the products will never reach the consumers should findings indicate chemical residues above the permitted values. Until the new procedures have been implemented in, e.g., India or China, the test products will be transported to Denmark by plane in order to have the tests performed before the product lines leave the production countries.
3. We will enforce new strict requirements on our suppliers. The number of suppliers will be reduced by in the nearby future resulting in IC Companys working with only the best and most responsible suppliers. This means that we will have a close relationship with few, large suppliers, thereby enhancing even better quality assurance.
For a number of years IC Companys has focused on issues relating to chemicals, and we are, as the only Danish business, member of Kemikaliegruppen. Kemikaliegruppen is an association of large businesses which co-operates with chemical experts, authorities and NGOs in order to solve these challenges. Furthermore, all members test their products.
"No one should doubt whether the products from IC Companys are both safe and of high quality. We can of course not guarantee that no errors may occur. However, we can guarantee that we work intensively to reduce the number of errors," stated Niels Mikkelsen.
