International textile & garment trade show in August

With an aim to enhance its regional trade, Cambodia has planned to organize its first textile and garment trade show – 'Cambodia International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition'.
The exhibition will be organized by the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) in association with Taiwanese firms and would be held from August 25 to 28, 2011.
Representatives of all garment units are expected to visit the fair to see the machinery and technology vital to the garment industry which would be displayed at the show.
The exhibition will also showcase modernized machinery for shoe manufacturing industry.
Besides participation of several Taiwanese firms, around 20 Vietnamese firms are also likely to display their products at the exhibition which is proposed to have around 200 stalls.
Around 70 percent of Cambodia's exports at present comprises of raw garment materials. The tax incentives recently introduced by the European Union is one of the reasons for the sector's strong growth.
