Bruck likely to bid for uniforms before Oct. 26 deadline - Minister

Bruck Group, a leader in advanced textile innovation, has time until October 26 to bid for supply of new uniforms for Victoria Police, Peter Ryan, Victoria's Deputy Premier and Police Minister, has said.
Speaking about a recent contract for supply of shirts worth US$ 970,000, which was awarded to a Chinese firm, Mr. Ryan said it was just a small fraction when compared with the current project which is going to be considerably big.
The Deputy Premier added that a totally new design for the uniform, as being envisaged, would necessitate inking of a multi-million dollar deal in near future.
The government has invited bids for contract for new uniforms, he said, and added that it is an excellent opportunity for the textile manufacturer with one of its production units at Wangaratta to make most of it.
He was optimistic that Bruck would bid for the contract, which has particularly been designed in a manner that gives local suppliers ample opportunities to link with the project.
