Clothing producers gearing up for escalating demand

The ready-wear garment producers in Turkey are gearing up to meet the escalating demand as the conclusion of the Ramadan overlaps with preparations for forthcoming academic year in schools.
The Turkish ready-wear producers are bound to benefit from booming sales as demand during this part of the year would remain high as compared to rest of the year.
It is because conclusion of Ramadan, the sacred fasting month of Muslims, is coinciding this year with beginning of new academic year in schools and the season for winter attires.
In addition, Turkish textile producers are not to face any significant rise in taxes on textile goods during the current year.
Hence, the month of September is believed to prove to be the best September that Turkish textile and ready-wear producers would have ever experienced in terms of business.
The textile producers are also delighted as there has been no additional rise in textile export duty, while the dip in cotton prices has helped textile item prices to sustain at reasonable levels.
Turkish textile and ready-wear industry is ranked amongst the world's top five nations. The recent initiatives of the Turkish Government to promote the country's textile and ready-wear production have helped the industry to enhance its position.
The country's Government on June 22 hiked taxes on imports of some textile items, pursuant to which now the import cost for those items has gone up by 30 percent. Such a rise in importation cost has also spurred demand for local textile goods.
