Sep '11
Kuehne + Nagel has recently signed a three-year contract with Celio Future Fashion Limited for the provision of domestic warehousing and distribution services in India. Celio, a leading French producer of men's apparel, operates a joint venture enterprise with FutureVenture India Limited.

Since its market entry in January 2009, Celio has become a well received brand in India. To cater to the growing demand for its products and to cope with its fast expansion in the country, the company requires scalable and flexible logistics solutions from a professional provider.

The services provided at Celio's warehouse Bhiwandi near Mumbai include receipt, physical inspection and put away of inbound cargo, order planning, pick and pack, distribution as well as value-added services such as barcode scanning. A competence team of around 20 specialists will ensure the smooth implementation at the facility.

“The new business underlines our capabilities in developing and providing high quality and flexible logistics services,” commented Volkmar Mueller, Managing Director of Kuehne + Nagel Pvt. Ltd. “Focused on advanced information systems and the use of project management tools and methodologies, Kuehne + Nagel ensures value-added logistics processes for the high-end apparel icon.”

Founded in 1978, by Marc and Laurent Grossman, Celio is a market leader in men's ready to wear clothing in France. Its flag ship store, located in Paris's Champs Elysee, is spread over three levels. In addition it also has a presence in Europe, Russia, UAE, Singapore and now in India through a joint venture with the Future Group.

With more than 60,000 employees at 900 locations in over 100 countries, the Kuehne + Nagel Group is one of the world's leading logistics companies. Its strong market position lies in the seafreight, airfreight, contract logistics and overland businesses, with a clear focus on providing IT-based lead logistics solutions.
