New Dallas store reflects JCP's commitment to energy efficiency

The store is also certified as "Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR," incorporating features such as:
• High-efficiency 12.6 EER rooftop heating and air-conditioning units. • Energy-saving, long-lasting LED lights throughout the store. • Double-layer roof insulation and spray-foam wall insulation to yield higher "R" values than typical stores. • Radiant heating in the receiving dock area to reduce reliance on natural gas. • Skylights with automatic daylight dimming controllers in offices and stockrooms.
North Texas Leader Plano-based jcpenney is one of the largest employers in North Texas with 8,500 associates employed at 18 department stores, two distribution centers in Haslet and Cedar Hill and its home office. The new Dallas store will add approximately 160 jobs to the local economy. The Company operates 104 stores throughout Texas, the most of any state.
Over the past five years, the Company has provided $14 million in charitable contributions in North Texas, primarily through its support of United Way and local afterschool programs.
Grand Opening Celebration A high-energy grand opening celebration is planned for Sept. 30, beginning at 9 a.m. at the store. During the ceremony, Store Manager Nic Hohne will present a $5,000 jcpenney afterschool access grant to the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club that will allow more children to participate in the Club's afterschool programs. jcpenney will also provide the Club with five $50 gift cards to help students purchase school apparel. The store opens at 10 a.m., and the first 450 customers will receive Sephora gift bags.
