Ulla Popken, known for plus size clothing for women, has opened four stores for its first menswear label JP 1880, launched in January this year.
Each of the stores in German towns of Essen, Dusseldorf, Munich and Karlsruhe has an area of approximately 70 square metres.
JP 1880 incidentally refers to 1880 when Johann Popken (JP) founded the Popken Textile Company in the town of Hameln on the banks of the Weser River in northern Germany.
Since the launch of the brand in January 2011, the company has been selling JP 1880 menswear only by online shopping and through mail order.
The menswear label offers standard sizes from L to 7XL. The collections of shirts, trousers, jackets, coats, sweaters and caps will be changed on monthly basis in the outlets.
Ulla Popken was established in March 1987 and operates through approximately 300 branches, more than 80 franchise stores and more than 60 shop-in-shop outlets in Europe, North America and the Middle East, in addition to worldwide mail order and e-commerce.
