The export of Chinese silk garments to Malaysia have surged over 10 times year-on-year to US$ 4.59 million during the first seven months of the current year, according to the statistics from China Customs.
Volume-wise, China exported 14.11 million pieces (sets) of silk garments to Malaysia during January-July period, up more than 10 times year-on-year. The average price per piece (set) was US$ 0.32, which was 95.63 percent less from the average price during the corresponding period of 2010.
While volume-wise, the exports to Malaysia accounted for 7.16 percent of China's total silk garment exports, value-wise it contributed just 0.66 percent to the market share.
