Vietnam becomes eighth largest garment exporter to EU

Vietnam has become the eighth largest garment and textiles exporter to the European Union, Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has stated.
Vietnam's exports to the EU witnessed high growths during the past few months, and accounted for 18 percent of the revenue earned through garment and textiles exports during the January-September period of current year, according to statistics from MoIT's Industry and Trade Information Centre.
The share of Vietnam in the EU textiles and garment market has also grown to 2.2 percent in the first five months of 2011, as against 2 percent during the corresponding period of 2010, as per Eurostat data.
