Netherland's fashion trade association MODINT is to hold its annual sizing and fit seminar in collaboration with the world's foremost apparel fit expert, Alvanon. The seminar will be held in the MODINT conference room, Utrechtseweg 95, Postbus 428 in Zeist, Netherlands on Thursday 8th December 2011, 10.00am to 3.45pm.

Highlights of the seminar will include a masterclass on effective global sizing strategies from Ed Gribbin, president of Alvanon Inc, the world's most respected authority on sizing and fit and a case study presentation from Monique Broeke, senior fit engineer with NIKE who will explain how it has used the latest 3D body shape data and fit tools to implement a successful fit standard across its active lifestyle ranges.

There will also be specialist presentations on design development and the use of fit forms and blocks; the application of modern grading theories; and advice on how to reduce product lifecycle times and costs in the production process. The seminar will conclude with a panel discussion during which sizing and fit experts from MODINT, NIKE and Alvanon will identify the biggest fit related problems facing the fashion industry and explore solutions.

The seminar is free to MODINT members within its buying and production member group and EUR 195 for other MODINT members and EUR 250 for non MONDINT members.

The seminar will open with an introduction from Matthijs Crietee deputy director fashion of MODINT, followed by an overview of sizing strategy by Nienke Steen, consultant quality management of MODINT. Ed Gribbin, president of Alvanon Inc will then give a detailed presentation on the impact of fit on the fashion industry and explain how global 3D body shape data can be used by brands and retailers to improve their fit standards.

Monique Broeke, sr tech design at NIKE will then demonstrate how it has applied body shape and consumer analysis to develop and implement its successful fit standard. The morning session will conclude with Jörg Thesing, director Northern Europe, Alvanon who will explain how fashion companies can design and develop better fitting clothes using the latest technical fit forms and pattern blocks.

After lunch Ed Gribbin will return to the podium to give an overview of modern grading theories and advice on how clothing suppliers can reduce the development time and costs in the production cycle.

With over 800 members, MODINT, based in Zeist, is Netherland's foremost trade association for companies operating in the clothing, fashion accessories and interior textile sectors. MODINT member companies generate a combined annual turnover of EUR 9 billion in the Netherlands and EUR 2.5 billion on export markets.
