T&FG is among the top five leading apparel producers in Sri Lanka, and is also a winner of the 2006 NCE Export Award and the All Star Award 2007.
The proposed factories would be the 17th and 18th production units of T&FG.
The project would be undertaken in two phases, and on commencement, the first factory would lead to generation of 1,200 jobs, while the second would create 800 jobs.
Presently, T&FG employs over 8,000 workers in its 16 production facilities spread across the world, with offices in Hong Kong and the UK.
The first facility coming up in Mannar is likely to commence operations by mid-October, this year.
