The board of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), based in Zeist (Netherlands) has strengthened its organizational structure via following appointments:

- Mr. Matthijs Crietee was nominated as deputy secretary general of IAF.
Since 2000 Matthijs Crietee worked for MODINT, Dutch trade association for fashion, interior and textiles, where he was responsible for MODINT's consultancy activities on international trade, sourcing including global social responsibility, export promotion and market information.

- Mr. Francis Yük was nominated chief IAF representative in Asia
Prior to joining IAF, Francis was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production(WRAP). Francis has worked in textile & clothing manufacturing, international trade and quality audit industries for over 30 years. He completed his education in Hong Kong, the UK and the United States and graduated from Hong Kong Technical College, Wool Technology, Textile Department in the early 1970s.

- Mrs. Nadia van Staden was nominated PR, Communication & Marketing officer
Nadia van Staden is returning to IAF, where she worked in the PR and Communications department from 2007 to 2009.

IAF President Harry van Dalfsen was very satisfied with these decisions by the board. “On our way to building a strong and independent secretariat, these nominations give IAF more strength and expertise to improve the value added to our members”, he said. “Together with our secretary general Han Bekke and supported by the board, this new IAF team can implement our new business plan that was adopted last year in our meeting in Frankfurt (Germany)”, he added.

The next board meeting and general assembly of IAF is planned to be held in Atlanta (USA) on April 23rd, 2012, on the eve of three major tradeshows starting on the 24th: Texprocess USA (SPESA EXPO is now TExprocess Americas) and Techtextil.

The 28th IAF World Apparel Convention will be held in Oporto (Portugal) from September 24-27.

The International Apparel Federation is a politically neutral global association, open to entrepreneurs and executives from the apparel chain worldwide.
