The Azerbaijan contingent at the 2012 London Olympics would be seen wearing outfits designed by well-known Italian fashion designer Ermanno Scervino.

Toni Scervino, head of the design house, said the sportswear would have traditional Azerbaijani symbols.

Mr. Scervino, who is on a two-day visit to Baku, presented prototype designs of sports apparel that would be worn by Azerbaijani athletes during the Olympic Games. He, however, added that the presented designs may slightly change in future.

He revealed that 100 percent cotton materials will be used in stitching apparels, while stretch material will also used, along with cotton, for women's suits. Tracksuits will be made in stylish design that will have glamour content and will also be convenient to wear.

Green colour will dominate the sports outfits that will have innovativeness of materials, he informed.

The Italian designer has also created a line of evening dresses for the Olympics.

Mr. Scervino said that they were asked to ensure excellent quality, while the order was placed by the Azerbaijani Youth and Sport Ministry.

The Italian design house intends to use Italian materials and new innovative ideas while stitching costumes for the Azerbaijani team, he added.
