Dr. A. Sakthivel, President of Tirupur Exporters' Association wholeheartedly welcomes the decision of Commerce Ministry for prohibiting export of cotton and announced it through the notification issued and this positive, required measure will straight away help for the revival of textile industry as the cotton is the main raw material for the textile industry.
“We hope the cotton export ban will help to avoid cotton price distortions in the domestic market and the cotton price correction will take place soon.”
Tirupur Exporters Association – popularly known as TEA - was established in the year 1990. This is an Association exclusively for exporters of cotton knitwear who have production facilities in Tirupur. From the modest beginning TEA has grown into a strong body of knitwear exporters.
