Madura F&L to open new Louis Philippe outlets in India

As a part of its new branding strategy, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle's menswear label Louis Philippe is expanding its flagship as well as other stores' network in India.

The expansion would focus on opening both company-operated as well as franchisee-operated outlets, Madura F&L, an arm of Aditya Birla Nuvo Group, said.

While it is eyeing to set up large format flagship Louis Philippe stores in key locations like metro cities, Madura F&L is also looking forward to enhance the existing Louis Philippe pan India network of over 100 stores, by adding 40 new stores each year, the company said.

The new large format outlets would be almost four times bigger than the company's existing outlets that have an average area of 2,500-3,000 square feet.

To embark on its plans, the company has already launched a 10,000 square feet outlet in Chennai, and proposes to launch six to eight such outlets each year. Such outlets, the company believes, would enhance the looks as well as the feel of the brand for customers.

The company expects each square foot of expansion to cost it around Rs. 2,500.

Besides driven by the success of the league-based tournaments featuring city centric teams, Louis Philippe brand has also linked with golf. The brand has launched Louis Philippe Cup for golf in partnership with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and Rishi Narain Golf Management.

The brand's retail turnover for the current fiscal is likely to be around nine billion rupees.
